What is SCP and what does it mean?
SCP is a foundation containing anomalies and protecting the world from what they can’t understand. An SCP can be any anomaly, anything from an infinite water source to a hat that shrinks your head the longer you wear it. SCP stands for ‘Secure, Contain, Protect’ which is the foundations catchphrase, but it also stands for ‘Special containment procedures’ which are the procedures with which the foundation contain anomalies.
Is SCP real?
SCP is a fictional set of universes where the foundation contains anomalies, so, no, it isn’t real.
SCP terminologies
Safe: many people think a safe anomaly is safe to handle, but a safe anomaly is just easy to contain, and only needs to be locked away in a box. A switch that kills all life would be safe, because you could lock it away without consequence
Euclid: this just means that when you lock it away in a box, you don’t know what will happen. Sentient beings are usually under this object class.
Keter: these anomalies don’t have to be dangerous. They are extremely hard to contain, and many don’t have effective containment procedures due to the anomalous capabilities of the object. A few examples of keter SCPs are SCP-682 and ..|….|..|.
Thaumiel: these anomalies can contain keter anomalies.
Cognitohazard: a cognitohazard is an anomalous hazard that manifests when a sentient being senses it, wether that be by smell, sound, touch, taste or vision.
Memetic: a memetic hazard is an anomalous hazard that forces people to spread it between people. It can be circumvented if you have a high level of memetic resistance.
Memetic resistance: memetic resistance can be described as ones natural resistance to memetic influences and hazards, so, if i had a high level of memetic resistance, then a memetic hazard may not manifest for me, for a small while.
Infohazard: an infohazard is an anomalous hazard that manifests when one has knowledge of it.
